  •    My new laptop is
giving me crap with the SD memory chip from my camera, so pics will be
a bit longer, but just take my word that this place is an eyeful.
I'm situated in a homestay with an Italian family, the Brazzinis, which
is really just an old grandmother that makes breakfast and dinner for
me and the other dude, my buddy Chris.  She doesn't speak a word
of English and neither of us speak any Italian, but thanks to my trusty
electronic translator and my ingenuity plus my awesome dancin' skillz,
we manage.  I'm learning a lot though.  I got my own room,
and since I was the first there, I got to choose, so I have a balcony
in my room.  Yes yes, don't hate.  By the way, they seem to be a
pretty well off family, so it's like I'm living on fifth ave or
something.  The Brazzinis also operate a few cafes around Florence, so
everytime our hostess doesn't feel like cooking, we'd have dinner at her
cafe, where one of her waiters named Nunzio, yes, Nunzio (that's such an awesome name) can translate a bit for
us.  It seems she works weekends, so saturdays and sundays we dine
    out.  It's freaking awesome!

       The NYU campus
is something of a gem itself.  "La Pietra," that's the name of the
mansion that was donated to NYU.  I have one class there, and
they're pretty strict about that place since it's basically a private
museum.  There's also this really nice garden behind it, but it's
off limits.  I'll probably get a chance to check it out one of
these days, but in the mean time, the rest of the campus is enough for
me to explore.  Oh Oh!  And on a separate note, NYU is now
considered an Ivy League School!  I'm an Ivy League student!
How 'bout dat!  I smart now!

Anyways, that's it for now, hope I can show off some pics next time.  Peace!

  • i think lam wants to move in

  • Hey D, glad to hear you are having fun in Florence...just one thing...when I was at NYU they kept passing around announcements stating that we had been admitted as an IVY League school...not true, while NYU is a great school, no school can ascend to IVY League status because, with the exception of Cornell, these were all colleges that existed prior to the American revolution. Sorry to burst your bubble bud, the flyer wasn't true.

We're still a hell of a party school thought :)

  • Italy sounds so awesome compared to New York. and you never showed us your awesome dancing skills OR your  singing skills. tsk tsk tsk

  • No Ive League? Damn, I stoopid again!
