  • Tonight was the most humid night I could remember.  I don't think it ever got this humid back in the states.  The sky was clear and I could see the stars, so it couldn't have been rain, yet everything was covered with beads of water.  Anyways, this is a hell of a miserable place, can't understand why anyone is still living here.  I'm stationed in Camp Buehring right now and there's absolutely nothing out here.  I stood on top of a truck, took a look around and there's nothing but cloudless skies and sand.  Flat horizon all around.  They weren't far off when they joked about a piece of sand paper being a map of the middle east, so much for sandboarding.    Just feels like another training camp back in Cali.  The days are extremely hot and cool at night, the sun setting at 6:00pm.  Guess they never heard of daylight savings.  All is well down here so far, and although we're considered to be in a combat zone, there doesn't seem to be any conflict at all here, so no worries, I'm ok.  Nothing too interesting happening yet, which I suppose is a good thing, so I'm pretty bored here.  The toughest thing for me here is still trying to battle homesickness.  Miss you all, til next time.
